SEDIBENG.-  The Deputy Minister of Sports, Peace Mabe, Member of the Gauteng Legislature and Portfolio Chairperson for Sports, Arts, Culture and Heritage, Disebo Tlebere, were last week joined by Emfuleni Local Municipality (ELM) Executive Mayor, Hassan Mako as they handed over a “combi court” to ED Mashabane Secondary School in Evaton.

Mabe said that the newly constructed multipurpose sports facility, represents an important investment in the development and empowerment of young people, providing learners with a safe, accessible and conducive environment where they can participate in sport, develop their talents, build confidence and embrace healthy lifestyles.

 As part of the handover programme, Mabe also distributed sports apparel, sporting equipment and educational books to learners from ED Mashabane Secondary School, Tokelo and Mosiuoa schools.

“This initiative seeks to strengthen both sporting and academic opportunities for learners, recognising the vital role that education and sport play in shaping well-rounded, disciplined and empowered young people.”
