Alberton property remains an attractive option
The property market has been through some ups and downs in recent decades, but when it comes to property for sale, Alberton has managed to stay as one of the most popular options in Gauteng. With solid infrastructure and convenient placement, it becomes evident as to why this is the case.

Gauteng has seen the rise and fall of many areas over the years, but property for sale in Alberton has remained consistently popular over many years for those looking to buy or rent.
This area, which is found at the very start of the East Rand and bordering the South of Johannesburg, boasts an incredible location in regards to convenience. The CBD is a mere 20 minute drive away, and with easy access to highways that travel to all other parts of Gauteng, it is a solid option no matter which area you work in.
One of the vital reasons why this area remains so popular is that it is affordable for people looking at all price levels. Some of the popular suburbs in this area include Brackenhurst, Brackendowns, Albertsdal and New Redruth, while the upmarket suburb of Meyersdal is a sought-after destination in Alberton.
There is a mix of older homes with large properties, to more modern complexes and cluster developments – all mostly on large plots. In fact, plots in some of the older areas are so large that there are developers who purchase a home, only to knock it down and build a cluster development that offers 4-8 units.
The active rental market in Alberton has seen constant tussle between tenants and landlords, which has ensured that pricing remains affordable. For example, a simple cottage at the bottom end of the market sees rentals in the region of around R3500 upwards.
A number of the two or three-bedroom townhouses fetch around the same price as a three-bedroom home, however, this is simply because of preference and safety considerations.
When it comes to property purchases, the less affluent suburbs of Alberton see house prices start at just under R1 million, while the more affluent areas offer some attractive options for R2.5 million plus. The Nature Estate and Eco Estate in the area has also attracted big interest, with the estates having cordoned off land so wildlife can roam free.
So if you have been on the lookout for a spot to enter the property market in Gauteng, don’t rule out Alberton.
