VEREENIGING. – The Vaal Fraternity will be met by new faces in new positions and ranks when they visit stations across the Sedibeng District. This include some of the stations that have been assigned new station commanders such as Boipatong and Sharpeville SAPS.

This follows yet another medal parade where Sedibeng District Commissioner Major General Zodwa Molefe awarded new ranks and positions to some of Sedibeng’s hard-working personnel employed in the SAPS. A total of 48 officers were promoted after applying to various positions open in the SAPS.

Speaking during the parade, Molefe encouraged members to work hard in alleviating crime and protecting the community. The attitude that we need to maintain is that we must be constantly productive. We need to go out there and make arrests and continue in the fight against crime.

“If you leave your station and go to another station, just do your job. I don’t have a lot of words that I can say to you but to tell you to continue working hard.

“Congratulation to everyone. To station commanders, here are the officers that I am promoting to work together with you at your various stations. I am just sad that others are leaving. The district is not gaining anything this time around.”

“I want officers to make becoming a police officer desirable for young kids that are still looking for careers.”

Previously, Molefe promoted over 100 police officers to new ranks after they had worked for the SAPS for years.
