Sasolburg couple arrested for selling pills and medicine

A couple is set to appear at Sasolburg Magistrate's Court following their arrest for selling pills and cough medicine.

SASOLBURG – A couple aged 20 and 25 was arrested in Sasolburg on August 12 for selling Painagon cough syrup and Mylan Alprazolam tablets without a license.

According to Fezile Dabi District police spokesperson Sergeant Josephine Rani, their detectives received information about the duo selling schedule five substances at a house in Sasolburg.

“Upon searching the house, the members discovered 58 full bottles of Painagon cough syrup and 22 Mylan Alprazolam 1.0mg full containers of tablets,” she said.

Rani said the couple was arrested on the spot, and the substances were confiscated.

“They will appear before the Sasolburg Magistrate’s Court soon on charges of selling schedule 5 substances without a license and selling schedule 5 substances other than at a chemist,” she said.
