SHARPEVILLE. – Kreative Misfits, Majesty Comics, Raw Beats and Easternville Music, in partnership with the Gauteng Department of Sport, Recreation, Arts and Culture (SRAC), Sedibeng District Municipality (SDM) and Emfuleni Local Municipality (ELM), successfully hosted the Vaal Creative Innovation Lab at the Sharpeville Human Rights Precinct last week.
Hosted as part of the Youth Month programme, the event brought together aspiring artists, musicians, animators, photographers, beat makers and digital creatives for an inspiring day of learning, collaboration and innovation.

The initiative created an inclusive platform where emerging talent gained practical industry knowledge, connected with experienced professionals and showcased their creative abilities.
The organisers said that the programme introduced participants to opportunities within the creative and cultural industries through engaging workshops, live demonstrations and interactive discussions focused on animation, hip hop beat making, photography and digital content creation.

Industry practitioners generously shared their expertise, equipping young creatives with valuable skills and inspiring them to pursue sustainable careers in the creative economy.
The event was honoured by the presence of Emfuleni MMC for SRACLIS, Lehlohonolo Malindi, who engaged directly with participants and reaffirmed the municipality’s commitment to youth empowerment and the development of the local creative sector. His interaction highlighted the importance of creating platforms that enable young people to transform their talents into meaningful economic opportunities.
