Sukuma Lutsha and former PSL players unite against Visecral fat

SEDIBENG. – Sukuma Lutsha Developments NPC successfully hosted the “Fitness Bootcamp Sukuma Lutsha and Former PSL Players Unite Against Visceral Fat” at the Saul Tsotetsi Sports Complex over the weekend.
Luthando Bottoman, from Sukuma Luthsa said that this was a strategic community wellness activation designed to officially launch the 2026 Visceral Fat Challenge.

“The event successfully positioned Sukuma Lutsha as a leading community-based health and wellness organisation by bringing together government stakeholders, former professional footballers, fitness professionals, healthcare practitioners, media partners and community members under one platform to promote preventative healthcare and healthy living.”

The activation attracted the participation and support of several strategic stakeholders, including:

The event was also honoured by renowned former professional footballers, including:
■ Augustine Makalakalane
■ Alfred (Avril) Phali

The former PSL players actively engaged with participants, shared motivational messages and encouraged community members to embrace healthy lifestyles through regular physical activity, discipline and wellness awareness. Their presence significantly enhanced the credibility, visibility and public appeal of the activation.

On the other hand, the Department of Health provided comprehensive health screening services throughout the activation. Participants were afforded the opportunity to assess their overall health status, receive guidance regarding chronic conditions and obtain professional advice on appropriate exercise programmes aligned to their individual health profiles.

“This campaign message served as the central communication theme for the activation, effectively raising public awareness about the health risks associated with excessive visceral fat while encouraging community members to adopt healthier lifestyles through regular exercise.”
