Thank u Sedibeng Ster for this beautiful opportunity, 3 years ago I got divorced and my life was a mess never thought I’ll cope, but I thank God that my ex hubby left me with that beautiful soul on the pic which is my daughter.

To the esteemed judges and fellow participants,

With great humility and overflowing pride, I stand before you to share the story of why my daughter and I believe we deserve to be the winners of this competition. It is not merely about seeking recognition or a title, but rather, it is an opportunity to express the genuine bond and uniqueness that sets us apart.

From the very first moment my daughter came into this world, I knew she was special. Her laughter and innocent curiosity brought an unparalleled joy into my life. As a parent, I have strived to nurture and guide her with love and understanding, encouraging her to explore her passions and pursue her dreams fearlessly.

Our journey has not been without challenges, but together, we have overcome them with unwavering support for one another. The true beauty of our relationship lies in the mutual respect and genuine love that we share. She has taught me more than I could ever impart, reminding me of the wonder and innocence that often fades with age.

My daughter is an exceptional individual, with talents and gifts that never cease to amaze me. She possesses an innate ability to empathize with others, making her an inspiring friend and a compassionate human being. Whether through her artistic endeavors, academic achievements, or acts of kindness, she continues to make a positive impact on the lives of those around her.

As for myself, I am simply a proud parent who has witnessed the growth and blossoming of this incredible soul. My role has been one of encouragement and support, standing alongside her through every step of her journey. Witnessing her triumphs and learning from her resilience has been my greatest reward.

What makes us truly special is the synergy between us—the unbreakable bond of love and understanding that transcends all obstacles. Our shared dreams and aspirations fuel our determination to make a difference in the world, leaving a lasting, positive legacy.

As we stand here today, I feel overwhelming gratitude for this competition, which allows us to share our story with the world. Should we be granted the honor of becoming the winners, we pledge to use this platform to spread hope, inspiration, and encouragement to others. We want to be an example of the transformative power of love, support, and shared dreams.

Thank you for considering us worthy contenders in this competition. Whether we win or not, our journey together has already taught us the value of believing in ourselves and cherishing the unique connection we share. May this message serve as a reminder to everyone that love and family are the most profound gifts we can ever receive, and with them, we can conquer the world.

With heartfelt gratitude,
YVETTE

Good day. My name is Thabisile Pitso and my mother’s name is Baby Pitso. Growing up I’ve always struggled making friends and whenever I think I have a friend they treat me badly. My mother has always assured me that people treat me badly because I’m special and that intimidates them. It was hard believing that at first but I realized that my kindness, strength and self confidence are what makes me special.

I’d like to win because that’ll make me feel good about myself above anything else. I have failed at achieving many things in my life and what motivates me to never give up is knowing that my mother does everything for me and she loves me no matter what. Not everyone gets a mother’s love but I’m grateful for her love. She is a strong woman and that’s why I want to celebrate her in this competition. My mother is my first love, best friend and world❤️.

My daughter and I,  she’s mean’s everything to me, she’s my one and only. When her father died I was so stressed and confused not knowing how am I gonna take care of her but I look at her and I told myself that I’m not gonna give up not now.

I took a stand and I looked at  how peaceful she is an amazing that God give me a gift of life. So now I’m trying buy all means so that my child can get everything that she deserves even though I’m not working, but I’m doing my best to make sure that she looks like other kids out there, It’s not easy being a single mother but I’m proud of myself 💓💓

I deserve to be the winner because we are beautiful.  I love my blessing which is my daughter.  I entered this competition because I am a  single parent, no one helped me with my daughter and I dropped out of  school because I was pregnant.

When I wanted to go to back they say I wasn’t allowed anymore 😭😭😭. My mom she passed away and I had no one to help me. This hardships helped me create a special bond  with my daughter, we play together, we laugh together and I love reading to her.

To love and to be loved it is an amazing feeling. I am Innocentia Karabo Lesia and I am the strongest mother I’ve ever known to Kgomolemo Lesia whom I gave birth to on the 19th of October 2013.  I was only 17 years old and I raised my daughter with so much love even though it was difficult at times.

I believe I am the true definition of Imbokodo because I take care of the house full time, I take care of my daughter alone full time, I hold certificate in Axillary Health Care and Early Childhood Education. I work Monday to Friday afternoons and I am a student at the University of South Africa. As we all know that it is highly rare for teenage mothers to proceed with their academics but through it all I pushed until I got to university and I did that without neglecting my responsibility, so I really do think I am one of a kind and I am special indeed it takes a queen 👑

Having you was the best thing that has ever happened to my life, life never made it easy for me then it got worse the moment I found out about my pregnancy. I had so many Questions that I couldn’t get answers for, at that time I wished for so much but the moment I held you in my arms I knew God had plan for you and I.

I could hope so much for you the future I see in my little Girl’s eyes is so amazing because I always do my best to be the best mom. My Daughter became the only thing that I lived for my love for you just make it easy for me to be the best mom in the world. I deserve to be the best winner because I’m one of young women without parents who has a rough background where my mom left me when I was only two months old but I never let that destroy the relationship

I have with my daughter besides I want nothing but the best for my baby girl. What makes me special is that many young girls like me couldn’t face the challenges that comes with life but they rather commit suicide but I never did that.

Me and my daughter deserve to win this competition because mother is the only person in the world who can turn daughter’s worries and fears into happiness. A daughter is the happy memories of the past, the joyful moments of the present, and the hope and promise of the future. I’ve never had a moment’s doubt. I love you.

I believe in you completely. You are my dearest one. My reason for life. If you ever feel like giving up, just remember there is a little girl watching who wants to be just like you. A mom is a daughter’s ‘first’ friend. And, through life, becomes her best friend. That’s why I decided to name my child Mpho Blessing because she is a gift from God and my blessing❤️

Greetings Madam/Sir.

I wrote this letter because I know that I am the woman that you are looking for. I am the woman that loves to encourage and motivate other woman. Second of all I am the woman who fears and love God. I am the special woman that you are looking for , because I can change people’s life. In this time people need woman like us to encourage them and help them because their hope is in us woman.

So as woman’s we must stand up and rise , because if we rise and stand together against all the violence that is happening right now in our country and world. People will respect us , people will see us as the woman of all Nations, woman that changed the world and made people live in the right way. So as woman of South Africa, we must take this serious
because the are children and mothers who are being killed by their fathers and husbands. So we must stand up and say” Enough is enough”, because if this continues we are going to loose our children and our family members because of what is happening in our world. What makes me special is that I’m passionate in seeing other woman being happy about themselves, feel good and beautiful too, because the word of says we’re created by the Image of God and again in the book of Proverbs 14:1
It talks about the wise woman and it makes me a special woman.

Yours sincerely
Simangele and Khanyisile Mkwanazi.

My name is Lorrein Skosana, I’m 29 years and I live in Sharpeville… I am a mother to two beautiful daughters Kutloano 9 years and Gomotsegang 3 years and a partner to Ben Tshenyego. I am the best candidate to win Women’s Month Competition because I have proven myself that nothing in this world can change a person. I had my 1st daughter as a teenager, through family support and love…. I went back to school and finished my studies.

I was inspired by my partner to be responsible, independent and respectful. I then took an oath that I will be a mother to my kids and respectful wife to my husband. It is not an easy journey but it takes one to sacrifice the outside world and focus on developing and learning for better foundation in life. Education has always been a key to better living….hence in life you have to have boundaries in order to make up your principles. I have graduated with Sedibeng tvet college for management assistant, I have 5 years experience with the biggest company and I decided to venture out to.

I became a mom at a very young age while I was still at school, then the father was not there all along. As an orphan I was raised and helped by my granny before her passing. I come across very heart breaking things as my daughter is now a teen, feel like giving up on her at times, but I pray for change slowly but surely God is answering my prayers. I stick by my daughter’s side even after every one lost hope in her.

I deserve to win in order to show my daughter no matter how hard the situation is I will always be by her side to motivate her in doing good for her life. I think am very special because am a young strong, gifted single black woman who is struggling and still pushes harder to see that my daughter is well taken care of no matter what. Against all odds I love my daughter.

And that’s how I know I am special because I am a woman raising another woman who is going to make this world a better one, a strong one, a sure happy one.

Love never felt so good, when my daughter was just a month old we lost her father and right there I had to show my capabilities and how strong I am as a woman. Raising a child alone is hard but she made it all too easy for, the fact that God trusted me enough to make me her mom was already a blessing on its own.

Her being here proved to me that there is hope after a heavy storm, being a mom to a daughter has always been a dream of mine and now that I am living that dream of mine couldn’t have prayed for anything different, I love where I am I love how happy am I get to smile when I see her, the light to my every darkness, I pray I am a great example to her I pray I am strong enough to prover to her that ” I can get through this just like mom did” I am all she has so that on its own is guarantee to her that mom is always going to be here no matter what. I will choose her over everything in this world at any given day and without a doubt because she is my golden baby, a daughter that’s just like me her mother

My fathers death taught us that even our most profound losses are survivable. Mothers are there for their daughters through thick and thin, standing by them through all their successes and failures. A mothers love is Gods love!.

What makes us special is great source of better emotional stability ,which grows our love every time life gives in challenges the more the challenge the stronger the bond often ,when I get emotional or think of heartbreak my mother gets to know even without me spelling it out , that also makes us special because I acknowledge her l appreciate and love her my mother my universe she is amazing she deserves the world full of everything she prays for .

Hey guys so above is a picture of my sister and my niece. The reason why I’d like to win is because, I want to do something nice for the both of them. My sister has been an amazing support system and she has been through a lot both growing up and recently, So I genuinely would like to do something special for them both.

I want my sister to know that she’s an amazing mom and a great sister and wife and I want my little niece to know that her aunt loves her more than anything in the whole world. I’d like both of them to feel appreciated and loved. What makes me or them special rather is how to close the are. My niece is only 5 years old but she’s very thoughtful and considerate, she loves bringing her mom[my sister] flowers[Dandelions🌼to be specific] from school.

Sometimes she leaves some of her lunch for my sister which I find so cute and heartwarming. Please let me win this and grant me the opportunity of making their women’s month a little extra special. Thank You. 💖

Hi my name is Ntomzodwa Evelyn Ngema, a mother of a beautiful daughter Reneiloe Mbali Ranthimo. I am a divorced mother who raised her daughter all by myself. Its was hurtful but I made it by the grace of God.

Her father and I separated while I was pregnant and he never even a single day took responsibility to help me raise our daughter. During my pregnancy it was hard to deal with the situation and I almost lost her, but God was with me. I gave birth to a beautiful baby girl.

When he was told that I gave birth, after some month’s he served me with the Divorce papers and that time  I was breastfeeding. I tried to be strong but I almost lost it, where it came to a point were my parents told me to stop breastfeeding my baby because I am feeding her with a broken heart and that breast milk will make my baby to be sick.

I had to stop breastfeeding that time I’m unemployed. I have to start buying milk for her and life was very tough for me. I kept on pushing raising her till now and still unemployed.  I make sure I put food on the table and make sure she is dressed.

How I’m blessed being a mother to this beautiful daughter. I always feel special mothering this soul even though it can be hard but I keep pushing. More especially at night oh no it’s a mess I have to wake up change her nappy give her food and obviously for her to sleep I basically have to sing.

Being a mother makes me strong n keeps me going everyday. I feel empty when this soul is not around. How blessed I am. Beside the naughtiness I am blessed with such a peaceful soul ever. Hi . My name is DIEKETSENG SEFATSA I am a mother of 4 children 3 boys and one girl. My daughter ORATILOE made me feel so special in many ways. In 2014 I had to enter a journey of my life where I should leave and loose the things I thought where most important. My job, studies, furniture all things I thought I worked hard for I lost everything except my children.

My first born is a boy (SEUN)was in matric by that time. My lifestyle had to change because I was entering a very different journey “THE ANCESTRAL JOURNEY”(THE CALLING). Being a hero to your children and all of a sudden you are at zero . My daughter was still young . When she grew up she could bearly speak she used minimal words . She would point direct to what she’s saying. Words like “mama-dijo,mama – rapela” like she knew I had to pray hard and I wasn’t aware of that .

At some point she had to lose one year of schooling under the situation we were facing . When I look at her ,she was more of understanding than myself ,she still encouraged me. I knew that I was a hard worker but I never knew that I am strong, beautiful and an A-Student. She took most of me  inside and out. I believe that I’m special and deserve to win this competition.

Diane James and Bianca van Niekerk. Why should we win? Well simply because we are always straightening the crowns of other ladies. We give and help wherever we can. And we are always a shoulder for other vulnerable ladies to cry on. You need, we make a plan to find it for you.

No jealousy ever towards beautiful women and women who fly above the rest. We understand that every woman should be smudging their mascara with tears of joy, and not with tears of sadness. We don’t lead or walk behind lovely ladies. We take their hands and walk beside them. We love all women unconditionally. We salute all mothers, daughters and grannies for the difference they make to this world. Kindness is our logo, companionship is our motto. Our doors are always open for that cup of tea and ginger biscuit. May God bless all the beautiful ladies.

Greetings to you Sir/Madam

My name is Kamohelo. I am a teen mother who’s 19 years. I entered a Women’s Month Competition for my little baby girl, Iris who’s 1 year . I stay with my mom and my older sister ,neither of us is working.

I’ve been looking for a job and I haven’t got it. People I knew they could make a plan for me , but instead people only wanted to use me and take advantage of my poor . It hurts alot and sometimes I lose myself because of depression.

I know what I want in life and I am an open minded teen with ambitions. At home we started opening a small business of selling food so that we can provide for ourselves and pay rent.

I deserve to be a winner because I want to implement more strategies to the business so that it grows and go to acting school, save for my daughter and help my lovely sister to register her music cause she’s an artist ( a model, songwriter, musician, business minded person and fashion icon).

The thing that makes me special is that I am a superstar who’s born in poverty. I’m special because I am a teen mother who want to do what’s best for her kid and save her from what I went through. I’m special because I want to outshine the talent we have at home and give our youth the motive of change through my story.

I thank you

Hi everyone

I honestly don’t even know where to start 🙃I fell pregnant with my daughter while doing my matric and at that point I was certain that my life was over. I couldn’t face the humiliation, so I stopped going to school 😔. Gave birth on the 13 March 2007, while being a mother to my beautiful daughter I realized that my life had just began and to become the best mother, I needed to get my education. Went back to school, which was hard since my peers were already in varsity but because it was not just about me anymore I pushed so hard, passed my matric and managed to get into university ☺️

I remember going to my parents Grave with tears falling, mixed emotions. My community members had wrote me off as 1 of the children who won’t amount to anything and there I was with my approval letter from the university of Johannesburg.

The one thing I could say was ” I’m going to make you proud and your granddaughter “

Being a mother has taught me so much about myself, I’m grateful as I get to grow together with my darling daughter ❤️

Hi. I hope you are well. I am Florah Lena Mkhaliphi and I am a single parent. I love my kids so much. They mean the world to me and they make me a better person everyday. I have learnt a lot from them. I have always been by their sides whenever and wherever they needed me. I have carried them all these years alone and made sure I become their mother and fill up the space of being a father to them too.

I love them so much. Even if it means I have to give up on my wants just to fulfill their needs, I will because nothing makes me happier than seeing smiles on their faces. Every time I see them smile and laugh, I always feel like my world revolves around them. I always thank God for giving me these kids. I have taught them to be respectful, loving and caring so that they can become another version of me.

I’d swear to God that no other parent is better at parenting than me because they don’t know what it feels like to be a single parent who is unemployed but still manages to make sure that her children always goes to bed with full stomachs and leaves the house with smiles on their faces. They don’t know what it feels like to be both a mother and a father at the same time. Everything that I do, I do it for them because I know that they look up to me and for them to be great people, I’ll have to start with myself. I will always become selfless and strong for my kids. I will always be their pillar of strength, their support system and a home filled with a mother’s love and care.

My name is Mantja Radebe (45 yrs old) and my daughter is Thembeka Bobi (8 yrs old), we usually call each other ” matching partner” as the photo says it all.

First time I heard her cry when she was born, that was when I realized that I got a biggest achievement which is a beautiful daughter and best friend. I want what’s best for her and someday I want her to look upto me for inspiration and advice. Someday when the pages of my life end I know she’ll be one of the most beautiful chapters. She’s such a clever and caring girl. Her smiling face melts my heart. She always tells me that I’m the greatest mom in the world, I’m beautiful and strong. ” I want to grow old and be like you mommy” that’s her. She’s my princess and I’m her queen.

We deserve to win because of our relationship as mother and daughter is unique and what makes us special is our unconditional love and beautiful bond.

We would like to wish each and every woman a ” Happy Women’s Month”.

Dear Readers

I trust everything is well. I am Itumeleng Tinte , from the Vaal. I am sending this email with regards to the Women’s Month Competition I saw being advertised on the socials.

First of all , I am delighted and thrilled to be entering this competition because that is one of the bravest thing I had to do this year so far. If I had to know what love is, it will be because of my mother. The more the details I get to know about my mothers life , the stronger I got as her daughter. I didn’t initially grow up with my mom around , I grew up with my grandmother and after we lost her we felt like we lost our touch to this whole world thing.

I believe we deserve to win because my mom and I had to carry each other and do this world thing together, it’s not as easy as it seems. She has instilled morals and values, I’ll forever look up to as a young woman. She has taught me all the responsibilities early in life, although they’re new responsibilities as the sunrises and sunsets. Because of her teachings , I’ll forever be grateful. And I’ll be ecstatic if we had to win , because we deserve a break after we had lost the pillar of the family which is my grandmother . For because all things my hands have held , the best so far is my dearly mother.

My mom has a heart of Gold, everyone from the neighborhood knows that my mother’s house is a home for all. She helps young mothers take care of their babies, she accommodates the homeless, and shares her last bread with the needy.. that woman is a superwoman however she never puts herself first and that has led to health deteriorating right in front of our eyes and she now has arthritis and is always in pain but she still does what she knows best ” caretaker” of everyone and this amazing giveaway would be a lovely gesture to her to show her that she’s amazing and all her efforts don’t go unseen and also she deserves to rest and let someone pamper her for a change.

Thank you

Dear Mom,

There are no words to express how grateful I am for having you as my mother. You have always been there for me, through thick and thin, through all of life’s challenges and joys. As I reflect on our relationship, I realize how much you have taught me about strength, love, and resilience. You have always shown me that no matter what life throws our way, we can always come out on top.

I remember all the times you stayed up late with me, helping me with my homework or just talking about life. You always had a way of making me feel heard and understood, and your unwavering support has been my anchor through all of life’s storms. But more than anything, it is the little moments that I cherish most. The times we spent baking cookies together, painting our nails, or just watching a movie on the couch. Those moments may seem small, but to me, they are the ones that have shaped my life and my relationship with you.

As I move forward in life, I know that I can always look to you for guidance and wisdom. You are my hero, my role model, and my best friend. Thank you for being everything a mother should be and more. I love you more than words can express. I deserve to be the winner of this competition because no other girl would love their mom as much as I love my mom.

At a innocent age of 13years unbeknown to us. My daughter was blessed to share, a last birthday with her Dad on 10th December 2019. A few weeks after, Her Hero passed away.
The year 2021, was her first year in High School. Her Dad was looking forward, to taking his mini-me to school. During lockdown, when many families were in panic mode at home, bonding and praying together. We had to pick up the pieces while reminded of the absences.

I made her write, a letter of which she placed in her Dad’s grave. Jeziyen is a blessing in disguise, my Pillar of Strength. My reasons for waking up and preparing her for school. We are thankful, to GOD, for gifting us Comfort. You just learn to take it one day at a time. Jeziyen who enjoys speaking writing and reading isiZulu as a second language. She really appreciates the African language, including the culture With her confidence, persistence and being extremely driven, I know she is not just going to stop any time soon.

Being a victim of bullying, Jeziyen has taken it upon herself, by Voicing out to assist the Voiceless. She is often searching for ways to try and reach out, bonding and just innocent fun with her classmates. Jeziyen often volunteers her lunch breaks, to offer study guides and lessons. Jeziyen knows that hard work, dedication and commitment is key to Success. I know her Dad is so Proud while watching over her.
Thank you

Everything that makes me savor the little person she is because I’ve just seen a glimpse that childhood is a blip and time truly does fly because I’m a mom. Everyday is a challenge also an experience seeing the world through Munkie waka’s eyes as she grows.

Winning this competition will basically be a reward of all the efforts I put into teaching her something new and how it shines through hard work and devotion. Writing for this competition is also a reach out saying HAPPY BIRTH MONTH, this is the platform I could tell the world how much she means to me and that is exactly what makes me special

I am a young mother, a single Parent for that matter. What makes me special is how I raised my daughter, for the past 11 years I had to play two roles in her life. When her father decided to be a drug addict I had to stand up and be a superwoman to my lovely daughter from a very young age. I seriously consider myself sometimes as  the most important person in this world who has been sent to fulfill some destiny, to leave a mark and to inspire, I believe that’s why I deserve to be the winner.

Being a mom is not easy, I still have to be a mom when I’m stressed, depressed, burnt out, and on that note I still have my little girls, even if their young they can still make me feel special, they are people who gives me hope, people who make me want to hustle for them. They give me love and support… If I win this I will celebrate with my kids coz they are everything to me

My name is Ntsoaki Flora Mphalali and my daughter is Onkabetse Tshepiso Mphalali

To be a mother made me understand the quote “It takes a village to raise a child”. I am a young mother, 22 years of age and my daughter is 3 years old. I might have been a teen mom but took an oath that no matter I would never leave my child for the temptations of the world.

What is special about us is that I was raised to know and I am passing that to her. No matter the circumstances God will always be our provider. I find joy in her performing for me the things she learns at her crèche. I am proud to instill in her the power of education because we live in a world where education plays a major role in opening doors. I totally agree that talents do help children to be success but you got to have something when it fades away.

I wish my daughter grows to be fierce. I wish God to protect her from all bad things of the world, as drugs have become a friend to children. Every time I feel I could give up, I remember that my daughter is watching and might want to be like me, its by this reason we deserve to win.

My name is Lettia Mochalibane, I’m 34 years old, I’m a single mother of two, a 17 year old daughter and a 6 year old son. I was born and raised in Sharpeville, I’m currently doing food and beverage learnership. Growing up I dreamnt of being a social worker, until life had turn on me ending up being a teen mom at the age of 16,while I was still at school doing grade 10.

Then I had to quit school for a year to raise my daughter. It wasn’t an easy situation because I was unable to hang around with my peers because you know how the black society is, they started being judgmental as most parents had this perception that I’m going to teach their children to lack ethics and moralities, thinking that if their children hang around with me they will intend or ending up like me by falling pregnant at an early age.

It is still hard even now to raise children alone. She’s now a teenager matriculant at Thuto-Lore Comprehensive School, I now don’t see it as a mistake it’s a blessing in disguise. Over all the experience made me the woman that I am today. The reason why I deserve to win once in my life I feel like I need something that will cheer me along with my daughter.

My great grandmother is one of the most happy souls I’ve ever encountered in my life she’s always laughing and making others around her laugh as well it’s nice to see that she has lived so long but still has so much life in her. Her stories are amazing I love how she always sings to me her favorite song is “re masole a modimo” she tells me that this songs brings us to God when we drift and reminds us who we are in Christ and we should never loose sight of that, and for as long as we are persistent we will know him beyond any doubt that we are ever alone.

Whenever I go to her crying about life being difficult she always says “Ausi hotla loka tshepa modimo mamello yahao etla tswala kotulo entle ya tholwana tsa moya”she likes it when I read stories to her she always listens and says it’s nice to have the ability to read for yourself that’s why Ntate enrolled you in school re batla o ithute ngwanaka. In 2 consecutive years 2020 and 2021 she lost her only daughter the next year her husband my great grandfather and she’s still strong.

I continue to see her love there nothing more beautiful to me than to see her refuse to let pain and loss bury her she is a phenomenal woman and will forever be shackled to the most important chapter’s of my life story

I didn’t know I was pregnant until I was 8mnths, I told baby daddy (boyfriend) that we pregnant and he denied the unborn child, my family turned their backs on me, i started stressing and felt left alone and it became trauma for me.

It felt like the end of the world for me, I prayed “God it’s me unperfect, I’m asking you to please give life to this little angle inside of me”. I had complications and gave birth same month and I was blessed with a tiny beautiful baby girl.

I couldn’t believed it she was mine, my blood, her beauty is out of this world. Baby daddy denied her again after birth, until this day he never meet her and he wants nothing to do with us.

After birth we stayed at the hospital for 2 days without her eating, my breast had no milk, she was pale but strong, Doctors & nurses did all they could but still there was no breast milk. I asked God to give us both strength and we made it until this day together.

I named her Hlonolofatso (Blessing) she’s a survivor and strong, her everyday smiles and laughter, our daily conversations, she makes me forget all the pain and troubles i had/have. She’s indeed a blessing anyone could ask for.

Today the world loves her everywhere we go. She makes life easier for me.

My mother, Lebohang Tlharipe, is a phenomenal woman. Growing up, she didn’t have much being the eldest of six children. She rose above her circumstances to become a professional nurse. Although there were times our family didn’t have much, she made sure we had what we needed, working long hours to save lives then return home to care for us.

My mother supported my many ventures into different activities emotionally and financially. Growing up, I tried swimming, tennis, athletics, drama, poetry, music, cheerleading; you get the idea! For all those that I tried she never discouraged me until I found my true purpose which is teaching. My mother is not a mother only to me. She took in a lot of relatives and raised them like her own. After my father’s passing, when any other person could have given up, she continued running the church they started together. She sees her members as family and goes beyond pastoring them. I know I am blessed to have her as s role model, she is a true mbokodo, a conner stone.

I can only hope to be half the woman she is

My name is Nthabiseng and I am blessed with 4 daughters. I was in an abusive marriage of 17years. By God’s grace I managed to run away and come out safe December last year. We were living in Northern Cape and I had to come back home at Sharpeville with 5 kids and the only things we had was our bags and laptop. My ex came bag with police demanding the laptop back. He had our cars house with furniture and our important belongings.

Me being employed with 5 kids it wasn’t easy but my kids love and support made it possible. I am blessed with musical gift I wrote more than 20 songs. At the moment I sing at local churches and I am learning to do beauty tech in the local salon. My wish is to find sponsorship in my professional beauty training and recording my songs in studio and live video recording.

This year January I struggle to get stationery and uniform for Letlotlo’s Grade R. I didn’t know where to go or what to do since I’m not working and baby daddy wants nothing to do with us. We’ve been through so much in this 5 years but I’m grateful for everything that has happened.
