SHARPEVILLE.- Perfect Academy’s deadly striker Mokete ‘Mega’ Moeti was on fire when he scored a hat-trick against NWU Vaal FC.

This speedy forward, who usually misses what seems to be an easy goal, was on top of his game against NWU Vaal FC, scoring brilliant goals, but was bothered by some arrogance.

Moeti was instrumental for Perfect Academy when the latter beat NWU Vaal FC 5-0 in the SAFA Sedibeng Hollywoodbets Men’s Regional League match at George Thabe Stadium on Saturday. Before he opened a flood of goals, Moeti, as always, missed some clear scoring opportunities.

However, he eventually found his scoring boots as he ran riot over the NWU Vaal FC’s shaky defense.
Moeti’s third goal was a masterpiece, marked by individual brilliance when he scooped the ball over the advancing NWU Vaal FC goalkeeper.

If there was a goal of the season, this goal could have been it. Moeti is one of the best strikers in the SAFA Sedibeng Regional League this season. His team is also challenging for the league title. Speaking to Sedibeng Ster Sport after the game, Moeti said he was happy with his performance. He told Sedibeng Ster Sport that the aim was to score as many goals as they could in case the league was to be decided on goal difference.

“It was great teamwork because we wanted to win this game badly to close the gap at the top. I’m happy that we managed to score five goals in case the league had to be decided on goals,” he said.

Moeti is expected to continue his fine performance when Perfect Academy takes a short trip to visit Moponisi United FC at Vanderbijlpark Hoërskool on Saturday.
