Thiruschini Naidoo takes the helm as chairman of the Port Shepstone and District Andhra Sabha.

THE Port Shepstone and District Andhra Sabha made history when it elected its first ever woman as chairman on Wednesday.

Young and dynamic Thiruschini Naidoo took the chair at the 60th annual general meeting held at the Andhra Sabha Hall.

Previous chairman, Reggie Kistamurthy, did not make himself available for the position and opted to be elected as one of the two vice-chairmen.
