Teacher Elaine honoured at Creston College

The school thanked her for her many years of service to Creston and wish her everything of the best for the years ahead.

It was wonderful to be able to meet again at a whole school assembly for the first time in two years, in the hall last Thursday, with all learners and staff present.

Everyone is welcomed back and wished all the best for term three.

This month, July 2022, marks Elaine Moore’s 25 years of service to Creston College.

She started teaching at Creston in 1997 when Lynda Kuhn, who was at that stage teaching Grade 1, went on maternity leave.

Elaine then moved to teaching Grade 3 when Lynda returned. Her classroom was an old prefab where reception is now located.

Initially, assemblies were held in a quad outside the prefabs. “It was comfortable and cosy, and it was then that I realised I loved teaching Grade 3,” she said.

To this day, she is still teaching Grade 3.

The school thanked her for her many years of service to Creston and wish her everything of the best for the years ahead.
