Hope Park makes progress

Donations, in cash and in kind, will be welcomed.

A PUBLIC meeting relating to the Hope Park project in Marburg was held at Gate Ministries in Port Shepstone on Monday this week. Still in its developmental stages, the park may be still another year in the making.

Chairman of the project, Pastor Reggie John, gave an update on how alien vegetation had been removed, roads built, and the building of a dam had commenced. “The public has been very supportive and the business community has opened its hearts to this project, which is planned to be a statement that the community can work together with the authorities to uplift our community,” said Pastor John.

Every day a team of three labourers is at the park, removing alien vegetation. Sponsorship of earthmoving equipment, labour and equipment has helped the project reach this point. Pastor John expressed his gratitude to all who had helped thus far. He spoke briefly about the challenges and the need for more businesses to provide support, in cash and in kind.

The immediate needs of the project are money to pay the labourers and earthmoving equipment to finish the roads and construct the dam. Sponsors of trees and other resources are also needed. A revised plan of the park will be completed shortly. If you are able to help in any way, contact Pastor John at 082 8227399.
