What a dope!

The discovery surprised the police.

SOMETIMES things happen that just seem too unlikely to be true, but they are. Like the 35 year-old man who asked Port Shepstone police for a lift from Marburg into town this week. And how it backfired on him rather spectacularly.

Now what makes this story borderline ludicrous is that he had on him at the time 1.4kg of dagga. Either he thought the police wouldn’t notice, or perhaps he had smoked some of his wares before his rather cheeky request.

To cut a long story short, the police smelt something just a little bit suspicious and were compelled to investigate further and so duly searched the man.

They couldn’t believe their eyes (and noses) when they found the man in possession of a plastic carrier bag, containing the illegal ‘weed’.

This all went down at Watterson Street, where the man approached the police for the lift and they agreed.

Talk about an easy arrest, or taking stupidity to a whole new level.

In the end he got his lift – straight to the police station!

He was charged for possession of drugs and will appear in court today (Thursday).
