Come fly with CemAir…this Friday
The introduction of the flights means cutting out the 160km trip to King Shaka International.
CemAir, an airline which already operates flights to Mpumalanga and the Northern Cape, is expected to sign an agreement with the Hibiscus Coast Municipality on the resumption of the flight route between Margate Airport and OR Tambo International in Johannesburg. The official signing ceremony, which takes place at Margate Airport this Friday, November 1, will coincide with the inaugural flight from OR Tambo to Margate. That flight is scheduled to depart from Johannesburg at 3pm and will land in Margate at 4.30pm.
The airline is expected to initially operate on Fridays and Sundays, with flights leaving Johannesburg at 3pm and Margate at 5pm. During the holiday season, from December 9 up to and including January 12, flights will operate daily. Travellers will be able to book online, at www.flycemair.co.za and via email at tickets@cemair.co.za
The municipality believes that this service will be of benefit to commuters who currently have to travel more than 160 kilometres to King Shaka International Airport, as well as to people living in neighbouring municipalities in the Eastern Cape.
