Atish Sewraj (16) was killed in the motor vehicle accident which happened in Marine Drive, Shelly Beach on November 11, 2012.
Atish, who was affectionately known as ‘Jumpers’, a grade 12 pupil at Marburg Secondary, died in hospital shortly after being admitted.
According to the police report, three people were taken to hospital and a culpable homicide docket was being investigated.
The teenager, the only child of Pravin and Indrani Sewraj of Marburg, was described as a talented young man and excelled academically and on the sporting field.
“It has been a year since our only child was taken away from us. No money will ever bring him back but we demand that justice must be done,” said Pravin.
