Generous donors build new home for needy family

A joint effort made the project a reality.

A BHOBHOYI family was delighted to receive the keys to their new house last Saturday. The family was living in a poverty stricken environment.

As a result one of the family members, who attends a local school, spoke out about his predicament. One of his teachers, who is also a Port Shepstone Bullslingers’ member, saw the pupil’s plight and, together with the club, stepped in to assist.

Bullslingers’ president Bruce Reid said that the club had never before attempted a project this big, where they had to build a house.

This was a huge challenge and the club called for the assistance of the local business fraternity which was willing to come on board.

“I am happy the house is now complete and I acknowledge the efforts of my members and others who came to the family’s assistance”, said Mr Reid.

“I was shocked that they had spent so much time living in these unhealthy conditions and something urgent had to be done.”
