Three-legged dog seeks loving home

The operation to amputate the dog's leg was successful.

A DOG that was rescued in Pumula recently has bounced back well after having had his right back leg amputated. Tanner, as this brave young dog has been named, was recently found on the road in very poor condition. He was starving, and limping due to an injury most likely sustained as a result of being struck by a car. His stitches are finally out and his operation was 100 percent successful. The friendly dog is now looking for a ‘forever’ home.

“Tanner’s new owners must take into consideration his condition. Although he is slightly limited, it’s not necessary to ‘mother’ him,” said Penny Taylor, owner of Harmony Hill’s Dog Rescue in Sea Park. “The young dog is hugely sociable,” she added. Days of neglect are far behind for Tanner, who is about a year old. He also doesn’t seem too fazed about his disability.

Since staying at the Dog Rescue, Tanner’s coat shines and he has put on some weight. His also has two gorgeous girlfriends, also looking for homes. The Dog Rescue is currently home to 25 rescued dogs, including four puppies. Most of the dogs have survived neglect or abuse and need loving homes. Contact Penny at 082 7190838.
