Changan Hunter makes a rugged statement
The 2.0l turbocharged diesel engine pushes 110kW of power and 350Nm of torque.
The Changan Hunter is a rugged bakkie built for more than daily demands and is now available at Changan Shelly Beach.
The Hunter 4×4 and 4×2 are powered by a 2.0l turbocharged diesel engine, pushing 110kW of power and 350Nm of torque, and paired with a 6-speed auto gearbox.
The bakkie offers a 1 100kg payload and a 28º approach angle at the front; it can climb from a flat surface without the front bumper scraping the ground.
Also, a 27º departure angle means the vehicle can descend or clear at the rear without dragging its back bumper, towbar or exhaust.
It boasts a 226mm ground clearance.

The Hunter merges tough, utility-ready design with polished details. From chrome mirrors, practical utility hooks, aggressive alloys and LED headlamps, this all-terrain bakkie makes a rugged statement without compromising sophistication.
Inside, all-road capability gives way to surprising refinement. These include tactile console buttons, a 10-inch infotainment touchscreen, a multifunction steering wheel and premium leather seats, all within a cabin that redefines what you expect from a pickup.
Trevashnie Munien-Ramdhan, sales executive at Changan Shelly Beach, said the Hunter is a bakkie that makes you stop and take notice.
“It gives you the toughness and practicality you expect from a diesel bakkie but combines that with a modern, comfortable feel. What I love most about the Hunter is the value. As a Chinese brand, Changan has shaken things up by giving customers a bakkie with so much included, without making you feel like you need a second loan to add the extras. You know that ‘Oh, I want that feature’. With the Hunter, you get a lot more included from the start. It’s a fresh option in a competitive bakkie market and definitely one worth getting behind the wheel for a test drive,” said Trevashnie.
