Shave or spray for Cansa – and send us your ‘selfies’
'Lose it' to show your support for those suffering from the disease.
IF there is only one cause you support this year, let it be the Cansa Shavathon. Be daring and opt to shave, spray or stencil your hair at either the Shelly Centre, Southcoast Mall or Hibiscus Coast Mall this Saturday, March 1, from 9am to midday. It will cost R25 per child and R50 per adult.
You are also encouraged to take a photograph of yourself and your friends supporting spraying or shaving in support of Cansa and email it to southcoastherald@dbn.caxton.co.za for us to add to our gallery.
Cansa Shavathon is one of South Africa’s best-loved events in support of a very worthy cause, namely showing solidarity with those affected by cancer.
Losing one’s hair is a common side-effect of cancer therapy, so shaving your head has become a symbolic gesture of support for cancer survivors. If shaving your hair is not an option why not colour your hair or pay a ‘bail out fee’.
