Umtentweni pageant entrant eagerly awaits Miss Grand SA

Miss Grand South Africa forms part of the international Miss Grand platform, which saw participation from more than 100 countries at Miss Grand International last year.

At just 24 years old, Tamaryn Price of Umtentweni, is steadily making her mark in the modelling and pageantry industry.

Now, Tamaryn is celebrating another milestone after being selected as a finalist for Miss Grand South Africa, where she will represent the South Coast under the title Miss Grand South Coast in Pretoria on June 20.

Widely regarded as one of South Africa’s leading pageants, Miss Grand South Africa forms part of the international Miss Grand platform, which saw participation from more than 100 countries at Miss Grand International last year.

The organisation’s mission is centred on promoting peace and standing against war and violence – a message Tamaryn hopes to support through advocacy for children and adults with learning difficulties.

“By helping the general public understand that these children also have a future, it will help grow a culture of acceptance and co-operation instead of resentment and ultimately violence. I believe that by starting with the problems in our community, we can lessen the violence overall,” she said.

Having completed her schooling on the South Coast, Tamaryn discovered her passion for modelling and pageantry while still in high school.

Since then, she has built an impressive portfolio of achievements on both provincial and national platforms.

In 2022, she was named a finalist in Miss Grand South Africa, and in 2023 she competed in Miss KZN, where she earned the title of first princess.

Tamaryn has also become a familiar face on local catwalks and serves as one of the directors of the local fashion label My Normal.

Her dedication to the industry has been recognised through her achievements in modelling. In 2023, she received both her KwaZulu-Natal colours and national colours for modelling, followed by another KwaZulu-Natal colours achievement in 2024.
