Padel club celebrated at inter-club tournament

Further fixtures are planned against other clubs as the season progresses.

The Umdoni Point Padel Club continued its impressive unbeaten run this season after a successful inter-club fixture against Deuce Bags Durban held locally recently.

The event brought together players from both clubs for a full day of competitive padel across the lower intermediate and higher intermediate divisions, with eight teams competing in each category.

The club delivered a strong overall performance, securing victories in both divisions and showcasing the growing strength of the local padel community.

The higher intermediate team produced a particularly dominant display, winning every match played during the fixture. The lower intermediate teams also impressed, contributing to the club’s overall success and highlighting the depth of talent developing within the club.

Beyond the results, the day was marked by strong sportsmanship, enthusiastic support and a vibrant atmosphere both on and off the courts.

The club’s Segran Naidoo said the fixture reflected the growing excitement around the sport in the area.

“It was fantastic to see players of all levels competing with such passion and sportsmanship. Events like these are not only about results, but about growing the padel community, building friendships between clubs and creating opportunities for players to develop their game,” said Naidoo.

Inter club fixtures continue to play an important role in expanding the sport across KZN, while also strengthening relationships between clubs and encouraging greater community participation.

Further fixtures are planned against other clubs as the season progresses.

The club’s recent performances have generated growing interest in padel, with increasing numbers of local players getting involved in one of the world’s fastest-growing sports.
