IZOTSHA Primary’s staff and pupils both appreciated the break from school on Human Rights Day. Nine pupils took part in the KZN Nipper Lifesaving Championships held at Addington Beach and all did extremely well with many receiving medals. Gr R pupils have had a few exciting events, namely ‘Our country’ dress-up day and a visit by the Search and Rescue Dog Unit.
A number of pupils have excelled on the sporting front. Tenisia Jacobs made it through to the U12 district netball trials. Ross Klusener, Chase Britz and Dylan Foggan were selected for the U13 Southern KwaZulu-Natal cricket squad, and Anthony Dunford was chosen for the third term U11 Provisional Squad Trials. Kai Hielckert, Kyle Klein, Skye Schlebusch, Josh Parry, Bradley Gets, Bruce Borman, Tayne Rudling, Ava-Mae Lilje, Dylan Foggan, Dillon Brymer and Kyle Osbourn, received Lower South Coast swimming colours in the U9-U13 gala hosted at Southcity recently.
The senior A girls’ hockey team attended a hockey tournament held at Treverton College last weekend, where they played a total of four matches. The school thanks Tanya Hielckert for all her assistance and wishes everyone a happy holiday.
