SOUTHCITY’s main sponsor for 2014, TWS Kyocera, visited Southcity last week to hand out the brand new first team sports kit to the netball, boys’ hockey, girls’ hockey and rugby squads. It was an exciting privilege to have Drew van Oudshoorn representing TWS Kyocera, as well as Sharks player, Tyler Fisher, at the school. Teams travelling to Treverton to take part in the ‘Winter Sports Festival’ over the Easter holidays are wished well.
Christian College pupils selected to represent the Ugu district team are: Netball – Nobuhle Mnikathi and Milisa Mahlangeni (U14); Claudine du Plessis and Yondela Pakati (U15); Lona Nonkonyayna (U16); Nobuhle Mnikathi, Hannah Nero and Katana Berente (U14); boys’ hockey, Cwenga Mgwebi, Jonothan Francesconi, Daniel Francesconi, Jarod Higgins, Luciano Ovidi, Byron Bennett, Jordan Hill and non-travelling reserves Michael Tarr and Jason Marx (U16); Ross Theron, Cameron Pereira and Calvin Rice and non-travelling reserve, Cody Hill (U18). This brings the total of Ugu/SKZN 2014 representatives to 45.
This term, pupils from pre-primary houses Kites and Eagles, have been enjoying swimming lessons with a very enthusiastic ‘Uncle’ Wickus Pretorius, who has been introducing them to the ‘big’ pool.
