MARBURG Primary held its athletics day at the school grounds last Friday.
Dolphin house’s total of 112 points was enough to beat Sable house on 103 points, while Puma house finished on 95 points, and Eagle house on 68 points.
Dolphin’s achievement is remarkable in that it won the title after many years of not having won. Housemasters,
housemistresses, athletes and the supporters must be complimented on a well-planned athletics day.
The event was blessed with wonderful weather and there was a strong turnout of parents who supported the runners vociferously. Trophies were given for first, second and third positions.
Athletes who achieved the most points in their age groups were given divisional trophies. All pupils were given a juice, and a hamper consisting of a doughnut and a packet of chips provided by the school.
Thank you to Coca-Cola Fortune for the sponsorship of Energade drinks for the pupils.
The school governing body, parents and sponsors are thanked for their contribution in making the sports a real success.
A special thank you to Claude Nanak from Port Shepstone Primary for his assistance and expertise in judging all races. For more pics, visit our gallery
