Hibiscus choir needs new director

Justin Forsythe, the current musical director, is moving to Cape Town.

THE Hibiscus Choir will soon say a sad goodbye to its musical director, Justin Forsythe, who is moving to Cape Town. Choir members are now searching for someone to take his place. The person appointed would be assisted by the choir’s current assistant musical director, Vic Neilson.

Hibiscus Choir is a voluntary organisation so any remuneration for this post would be a nominal amount to cover travel and other expenses. The choir meets for rehearsals at the bowling club in Margate Retirement Village every Tuesday from 5pm to 6.30pm During the course of the year it does two productions, one in May or June and the other in November or December. Each production is staged about four times at various venues.

As well as needing a new musical director the choir is always pleased to welcome new members, especially tenors, basses and altos. Anyone interested is asked to contact Vic Neilson at 083 3209424 or Yvonne Janvier at 072 0232337.
