PSHS had the privilege of past pupil and 2003 head girl, Fundi Zwane, assisting at the school over the past few weeks. Best known for her breakout role as Rethabile in Generations, she says that coming back to Sheppie High has been an amazing journey, adding it is where it all started for her. Fundi, who is no stranger to the school stage, played the role of ‘Lambchops’ in the production of Fame in her matric year and is sharing her expertise for the annual production. This year, the school will be performing the well-known Dr Seuss’s ‘Seussical the Musical’, a fantastical, magical, musical extravaganza that will be opening during the month of May.
At the champs gala towards the end of last term, the following results are worth mentioning: Junior victor ludorum, Aidan Brook; junior victrix ludorum, Aeran Jones; senior victor ludorum, Brandon McGarry; senior victrix ludorum, Robynne Theron. Age group winners were U14 boys, Kyle Fichet; U14 girls, Jordyn Nel; U15 boys, Aidan Brook; U15 girls, Aeran Jones; U16 boys, Jason Olivier; U16 girls, Gillian Plumbly and Raine Redinger; U17 boys, ‘KJ’ Clifton; U17 girls, Jané Hills; U19 boys, Brandon McGarry and U19 girls, Robynne Theron.
PSHS won 3-0 at the first team girls’ hockey versus Hatfield College, and also the first team boys’ soccer 3-1 against Hatfield College. In the U15 rugby tour to Vryheid vs Pongola Academy, PSHS lost 14-22 and vs Treverton, lost 5-10.
