Yasmeen is victorious at Islamic School

World famous Muslim artist, Zain Bhiklha will be presenting his poetic and vocal talents at the school

AFTER dedicated training and practice, the Islamic School held its annual sports day at the Marburg Secondary School grounds. Although it was an unusually early start for mothers and daughters, at least the refreshment kiosks saved moms from the dreaded kitchen on a Sunday .

The senior girls’ athletics events held spectators in suspense with a nail-biting competition between Wardah and Yasmeen houses. Wardah house clinched victory in the first girls’ senior events. The excitement continued throughout the day as the junior and senior boys displayed their athletic skills and cheering reached fever pitch during the relay races and tug of war events.

The overwhelming support of parents and well-wishers, together with the athletes, made this event a memorable one. Overall winners, Yasmeen house was elated with its defeat of Wardah house.

Sports coordinator, Shuaib Fareed, was proud of all athletes and the sports committee wishes to thank parents and well-wishers who contributed to the day’s success.
