Last week, 150 college pupils and coaches travelled to Hillcrest High, a school of over a thousand pupils. Unfortunately the three netball teams were unable to play because of rain and the courts were too slippery. Rugby results: U15A drew 5-5, with Hillcrest scoring in the last minute; U16 vs Hillcrest U16A, Southcity won 10-7 and Southcity 1sts beat Hillcrest 2nds 26- nil.

Girls’ hockey results: U14 lost to Hillcrest U14A; U16 girls dominated the entire game, but Hillcrest’s U16A managed to score in a rare moment of possession. The girls’ 2nd team drew with Hillcrest 2nds and Southcity’s 1st girls played one of their best games yet, winning the game against Hillcrest’s 1st team 3-1.
Pre-primary had varied and interesting visitors over the past two weeks, from police who ‘arrested’ and fingerprinted them, to ‘auntie’ Chloé Maartens teaching ballet. Other visitors included a photographer, paramedic, librarian and a pastor, all dressed up as chefs to make cupcakes. To end off the theme ‘occupations’, pupils arrived at school dressed in what they want to be when they grow up.
