Fishermen rescued off Shelly Beach

A marine motor mechanic was called in to help.

FIVE fishermen were rescued after their ski-boat suffered mechanical failure just past the surf line off Shelly Beach last Friday morning.

NSRI Shelly Beach launched a rescue craft, with a marine motor mechanic on board.

“The mechanic could not repair the motors properly at sea and the boat’s crew was brought safely ashore by the NSRI crew,” said spokesman Craig Lambinon.

The stranded boat was also brought safely to the beach under reduced motor power.
