SOUTHBROOM

With one round to go before the three-way split of 60 teams, Walking on Water remains in the lead in the Hibiscus Brokers SuperTrips year-long lawn bowls competition.

The trio, comprising Cleve Walker, Julie Walker and Tony Waters, won the competition last year and were runners-up the year before.

The 2026 edition has been expanded to incorporate 60 teams of three and is played at five bowling clubs.

After next month’s round, three divisions of 20 will be formed to allow the two lower-placed sets of teams a chance to win their ‘league’ over the remaining five rounds.

May’s winners were:

At Munster – Hare and Hounds – Vernon Strauss, Neil Patterson and Paul Mundell.

At Banners Rest – Lambazi Lurkers – Ron Weddell, Pam Nothard and Dave Nothard.

At Riverside – B-Ware – Sergio Ruperto, Pat Ruperto and Jokkie van Burren.

At Southbroom – Giving it a Go – Avril Cannon, Pieter Swanepoel and Wilma Swanepoel.

At Margate – Watching You – Alan Gibson, Mike Dunn and Brian Douthwaite.

THE BELL

The Harbourview Superspar trips was won by Sharolyn Dacey, Steve O’Moore and Winnie Hess.

Runners-up, sposnored by Suzuki South Coast, were Barry Krause, Louw Vermeulen and Charmaine Vermeulen.

In third place were George Watson, Cedric Miles and Errol Upton.

Fourth place went to Tracy Graham, Hans van der Walt and Dina van der Walt.

The Piet Se Hut winners were Bob Corringham and Desiree Maartens, followed by Louw Vermeulen and Jimmy Holtshauzen.

In third place were Albert van Niekerk and Rose Ludwig.

TWENI

The Tweni Pharmacy men’s pairs was won by Allen Thompson and Alan Wilkins.

Runners-up were Robbie Duyts and Barry Krause.

Session prize went to Steve O’Moore and Cedric Miles. .

RIVERSIDE

The Uvongo Spar competition was won by Graham Dunlop, Pauline Dunlop and Luke Werth.

Runners-up were Luhane von Beneke, Johan Labuschagne and Dillon Schoeman.
