‘Suicide Bend’ claims second victim in two days

Emergency services are using the jaws of life to free the driver.

THE recovery of the vehicle which crashed into the Damba River at ‘Suicide Bend’ last night has taken a nasty turn.

A motorist ploughed into a taxi which had stopped due to the recovery activity. The recovery has been in progress since 2pm today.

Emergency services are using the jaws of life to free the driver of the vehicle. No one in the taxi was injured.

Traffic is backed up as far as Southport and motorists are urged to drive with extreme caution.
