Creston ends fixture with emphatic win

This fixture is so much more than just competing and taking part.

CRESTON’S annual winter fixture against Southcity took place in the last week of April. This is always an eagerly awaited contest and this year was no exception. The fixture was played at Creston College this year over a period of three days. What is particularly noteworthy about this contest is that all age groups in the school play a match beginning with gr 1 soccer and hockey, and finishing with the boys’ first XV rugby and boys and girls first team hockey.

This year saw Southcity dominating junior primary fixtures while Creston had the better of the exchanges in girl’s hockey and boy’s rugby on days two and three. The fixture was completed with an emphatic 20-0 win by Creston in the boys first XV rugby.

It was a pleasure to host the fixture this year and full marks to the sports departments of each school for making sure that everything went ahead smoothly.
