HALFWAY Toyota has continued to support Port Shepstone High rugby and this year marks 26 years! A sponsors’ evening was held last Wednesday at Halfway Toyota in Shelly Beach, where Rajesh Mohunlal presented the first team with a new kit.
The guest speaker was Lwazi Ngcumgama (class of 2008), who captains the KZN University rugby team. Each player received sport bags containing new jerseys and a warm-up kit. Halfway Toyota also generously provided the entire U16 team with new sport bags. First team players, coaches and Sheppie High would like to thank Toyota for their generosity.
In other recent sport news, the first team hockey played against Pinetown and won three goals to two. Rugby against Creston College, the first team won 20-3, U16s won 50-7, and the U14s played the sevens team and won 19-12. At a cross-country league held at Kingway, runner James Mellors (U19) was placed second, Njabulo Cele (U17) also came in second, Wandile Ngcobo (U15) placed fifth, Monique Best (U17) was placed sixth and Jennifer Gillespie (U17) was placed tenth.
