Don’t wimp out – have a free burger

More than 3000 people signed the #WimpyStay petition.

TO celebrate that Faurco Investments will get to continue with its long-term Scottburgh beachfront Wimpy lease, the human rights organisation, AfriForum, has invited members of the community to enjoy a free Wimpy burger with the organisation’s Scottburgh management team.

“We would like to thank the community for their continued support and celebrate this victory with them,” said AfriForum’s Chris Fourie.

Mr Fourie said that AfriForum launched its #Wimpystay campaign on April 30, and within a few days the petition campaign went viral and thousands of people showed their support.

“Umdoni Municipality had no choice but to give in to the pressure from AfriForum, the community and media. We have shown that the community will not allow politicians ruin our beautiful town and turn it into a ghost town,” he said.

According to Mr Fourie this is tangible proof that a united community can change things for the better.
