Drive the future in a Leapmotor C10
It blends tech-forward features with affordability, convenience and good driving range.
Driving a car on the South Coast that many have not seen before evokes a mix of thrill and curiosity. My test vehicle was a Leapmotor C10 and boy-or-boy did this SUV grab people’s attention.
“Hey what’s this? Wow, love the colour, love the look.” Everywhere I went, people asked questions.
Driving the C10 was a pleasure. It delivers 158kW of power and 320Nm of torque to the rear wheels, achieving 0-100 km/h in about 8.5 seconds.
It is uniquely powered by an electric motor, while a 1.5-litre petrol engine operates exclusively as a generator to charge the battery. This eliminates range anxiety, offering up to 1150km of combined range.
Energy comes from a 28.4 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, which is integrated directly into the chassis floor using proprietary cell-to-chassis technology to maximise interior space, rigidity and no centre hub.
Inside, it is built tough and offers class-leading legroom and headroom. Notable interior features include heated and ventilated seats, a large panoramic sunroof, dual wireless chargers, and an NFC card instead of a conventional key. Yip every time you enter the car, just tap the driver’s side mirror and tap again at the centre console and you are activated.
So if you are in the market for an incredible driving experience paired with a massive combined driving range and thinking of a modern hybrid or an electric vehicle, the Leapmotor in this segment delivers, all you have to do is just sit back and enjoy comfort, space and style wherever you go.
