PORT Shepstone Primary recently took pupils on a few educational excursions. Gr R and gr 1 pupils visited Riverbend Crocodile Farm where they learned about the habitat and lifestyle of crocodiles. Pupils were awed by the Nile crocodiles of different ages and sizes, but the highlight of the trip was their encounter with venomous snakes, especially the rather long green and black mambas.
Gr 2 pupils visited Butterfly World and the coffee farm in Ramsgate, where many pupils saw what a coffee bean looked like for the first time and learnt about the processing of coffee beans into coffee.
Gr 3 pupils went on an exhilarating excursion to Wild Waves Water Park at the Wild Coast Sun Hotel and Casino Resort, where they enjoyed splashing and sliding on a variety of water slides. While being a fun-filled day, they learnt valuable lessons about water safety.
