PSSP hosts winter games

PSSP won most of their games and this can be attributed to the excellent team spirit that prevailed.

FIFTEEN local schools converged on PSSP last Saturday to take part in the annual winter sports day. The sports fields were turned into a hive of activity, filled with fun and action. Although the emphasis was on fun, the games were very competitive. Well done to all PSSP teams who won most of their games, which can be attributed to the excellent team spirit that prevailed on the day.

The senior volleyball teams (boys and girls) competed in a volleyball tournament held at the Marburg Sports Complex last Saturday. Well done to the senior boys’ team which advanced to the semi-finals, where they narrowly lost against Hlanganani Primary.

A number of fixtures took place against Margate Primary last week. The junior girls’ hockey team played last Monday and faced with tough opposition, lost 3-0. Junior boys’ hockey team fared slightly better and narrowly lost the game 2-1. Senior girls’ hockey against Margate was taught a lesson or two as they lost 5-0. The netball teams were on top form with all teams winning convincingly. U13A won 10-1, U13 B won 8-7, whilst the junior girls won 5-3. PSSP teams look forward to next week’s fixtures against Southcity and Creston College.

Gr 5 pupils were treated to an outing to Lake Eland this week to learn about wildlife and nature conservation.
