PORT Shepstone Primary was proactive in highlighting the plight of the kidnapped Nigerian schoolgirls and on May 15 a special assembly was held to pray for the safe return of the girls.
Zaynab Kadwa of gr 7 addressed pupils on what had happened to the girls, emphasising how kidnapping has violated human rights of these pupils, focusing particularly on their right to education and protection from harm or child trafficking.
Pastor Reggie John of Gate Ministries led the assembly in prayer for the safe return of the girls to their families and candles of hope were lit.
Gr 4 pupils went on an excursion to Wild Waves Water Park and despite the chilly weather, pupils had a fun-filled day. Anerley Youth Camp played host to Sheppie Primary’s gr 6 pupils recently and they took part in team building and leadership exercises. Both grades are complimented on excellent behaviour on both outings.
