THE past week at Creston was dominated by speech and drama performances by junior primary pupils. Each class was required to present a choral verse to two independent adjudicators and several pupils also performed individual pieces. Last Friday they performed for parents, who thoroughly enjoyed the show.
The highlight of last week’s sport was Port Edward Primary’s winter tournament. Creston entered grades 1, 2 and 3 for hockey and soccer matches. Congratulations to PEPS for such an entertaining, well-organised tournament.
Creston College hosted development rugby sides last Saturday. It is gratifying to play an active role in the development of rugby on the South Coast and the school is grateful to be included in the fixture lists. Results: U14A won 52-10; U16 lost 5-44 and the first team won 5-0. Creston also hosted boys’ hockey against St Patrick’s last Friday afternoon and Creston’s U16s won 1-0 and the first team drew 1-1.
