Zulu lessons offered in Ramsgate
Set yourself the challenge of learning a new language.
THE Ramsgate Lions’ Community Hall, formerly the Ramsgate Bowling Clubhouse, is put to excellent use every Thursday at 5pm.
This is when China Mkwanazi teaches a group of enthusiastic students how to converse in Zulu. Newcomers, including complete beginners, are always welcome to join the group and to learn conversational Zulu. As members of the group point out, being able to communicate in Zulu is a very useful skill in KwaZulu-Natal. Learning and understanding each others’ languages also promotes social cohesion in a community.
Olliver Ransome, who is keen to promote the Zulu conversational classes, is also looking at other ideas for making full use of the community hall. He wonders if it could be used as a home base for a repertory theatre group or as a venue for regular musical soirees for lovers of all sorts of music ranging from classical to jazz.
If you are interested in any of these ideas, contact him at oransome@telkomsa.net.
