PORT Shepstone Primary invited members of the SA Police Services to the school in an effort to increase child abuse awareness. Sergeant EK Niemack and Warrant Officer PC Naicker addressed the pupils on child protection and enlightened them on various issues that surround abuse and children’s rights, with particular emphasis on resources to access help.
Pupils are fast approaching the all important mid-year examinations, which will commence on June 10. As this is the first major exam on the school timetable, parents are encouraged to monitor exam preparation, limit television viewing and ensure that preparation is not left to the ‘eleventh hour’ which could overwhelm and frustrate pupils.
