TWO people have been killed in Qinabout, Gamalakhe in as many weeks.
Samkelo Ndovela (19) was stabbed in the chest in Thembalihle ward last Saturday. Police spokesman Captain Gerald Mfeka said the victim was attacked by two men and left on the side of the road.
“Ndovela was found at about 7.30pm by a neighbour, who then alerted his family. He was taken to the Gamalakhe Clinic, where he died,” said Capt Mfeka.
In the early hours of Sunday morning, police arrested a 21-year-old man from Gamalakhe, who appeared in the Ramsgate Magistrate’s Court yesterday (Wednesday). The case was postponed for further investigation.
On May 23, Phumzile Dlamini (51) was murdered in Qinabout. She was found in Mpovuza Road at around 7pm. It is believed that Dlamini, thought to be from the Gamalakhe area, was strangled to death.
Last week police arrested a man (40) in connection with the murder. He is due to appear in court soon. Detective Constable Mlungisi Jaba is the investigating officer.
