A PRISONER escaped from a police van near the tollgate in Marburg earlier today.
Police spokesman Lieutenant-Colonel Zandra Wiid said six prisoners were en route from Westville prison to attend court proceedings in Ramsgate. “Police are investigating how the prisoner managed to force open the door of the vehicle,” she added.
Police have opened an escape from lawful custody docket.
