THE dedicated Women’s Committee of Port Shepstone mustered the support of the public at a high tea and bazaar held at the Islamic School last weekend.
About 200 women were treated to scrumptious treats laid out artistically and dietician Mrs Shubnum Ismaail advised on healthy lifestyles and food choices, especially during the fasting month of Ramadaan.
Orient Islamic School’s gr 11 pupil Aamena Phili entertained the audience with her melodious singing and lucky draws and auctions during the course of the afternoon added to the exciting fund-raising event. The Women’s Committee has pledged all proceeds towards the completion of the school’s AstroTurf.
The senior boys, accompanied by principal Moulana Imran Khamissa, joined other youths from across the province at a youth development programme held in Pietermaritzburg last Saturday. The boys enjoyed the interaction and a series of interesting talks focusing on issues facing the youth today was presented by experienced spiritual leaders.
