Margate family threatened and robbed

The getaway car was later found abandoned in Durban.

A MARGATE family now lives in fear after they were robbed at gunpoint at their home in Azalea Street last Saturday.

“When the 25-year-old-woman returned home to her family at about 11pm, she heard a firearm being cocked. She was then  surrounded by three armed men,” said police spokesman Captain Gerald Mfeka.

“She was forced into the house at gunpoint and another three men also entered the home,” he said.

The armed men demanded money, which was handed to them. The men also took cellphones and a plasma TV and fled in the woman’s vehicle. The  family was not harmed.

The stolen vehicle  was found abandoned in Durban last Sunday.  No arrests have been made.
