THE Marburg businessman (46), arrested for allegedly having sex with a minor (a girl aged 14), made his second appearance in the Port Shepstone Magistrate’s Court today (Thursday).
The case was postponed to July 17 for further investigation.
The man, a former police officer based in Port Shepstone, was arrested after the 36-year-old mother filed a complaint against him.
He was formally charged with statutory rape. It is believed that the mother and her daughter rented an outbuilding at the man’s home in Marburg.
It is alleged that the ‘affair’ started in October last year. The case is being investigated by the Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences (FCS) unit.
