A FIGHT at Ngqobheni bus stop at Fairview Mission in Umzumbe last Friday resulted in the deaths of two men.
Police spokesman Captain Vincent Pandarum said that Mandla Zondeka (43) and Eugene ‘Mgongolo’ Mbhele (30) became involved in a heated argument while at the bus stop.
“It is alleged that Mr Mbhele stabbed Mr Zondeka, killing him. It is believed that enraged Fairview Mission residents then sought revenge and attacked Mr Mbhele, who died of his injuries at the scene,” said Capt Pandarum.
Seven people have been arrested and detained pending further investigation.
Detective Warrant Officer Mark John of the Southport SAPS is investigating two counts of murder.
