Make use of the illegal parking hotline

You can now report those drivers who park illegally in disabled bays and action will be taken.

YOU can make a difference, one small action at a time. The Lead SA website points out that we all have a responsibility to make the world a better place, and sometimes this means taking a stand against those who break the rules.

Concerned motorists are now able to report drivers who park illegally in bays designated for the disabled and action will be taken to have those cars removed. The number to call is 086 167 2226.

The South African Community Action Network will contact the management of the shopping centre concerned or the police to remove vehicles from these bays.

“When a member of the public calls with a description and the location of the vehicle, the duty manager will contact the shopping centre and tell management to move the vehicle,” said network spokesman, Lachlan Nicholson.

He added that the network would call police to remove the vehicle if centre management ignored the call.
