Christmas in July in Melville combines festive fun with garden learning

A special highlight will be an educational colouring book designed specifically for the event.

Families are invited to enjoy a unique Christmas in July celebration with a difference when the Sanctuary of Love hosts Santa’s Enchanted Garden Quest in Melville on Saturday, July 25.

Taking place from 09:00 to 15:00 at 68/69 Beach Road, Melville, the event promises a day packed with entertainment, creativity and hands-on learning for children and adults alike.

While visitors can look forward to live music, food stalls, a flea market, car boot sale, clairvoyants, belly dancers and other attractions, organisers say the heart of the event is teaching children about the importance of growing their own food and developing a connection with nature.

Children will be able to explore the vegetable garden with friendly guides, take part in a treasure hunt, enjoy face painting and balloons, and listen to storytelling sessions throughout the day.

A special highlight will be an educational colouring book designed specifically for the event.

The book tells the story of the sunflower and its importance, helping children learn about gardening and the environment in a fun and engaging way. Each child will receive a free copy to take home.

Young visitors will also search for hidden fairy characters placed throughout the garden near different plants, learning about each species along the way.

As an added bonus, children will be able to keep the fairy they discover and receive a plant to take home to nurture.

Some 30 children are expected, so book early to avoid disappointment.

The event aims to show that gardening can be both educational and fun while inspiring the next generation to appreciate where their food comes from.
