East Coast Radio comes to breakfast!

East Coast Radio will broadcast from Port Shepstone lighthouse on July 21.

PORT Shepstone is one of eight KwaZulu-Natal towns and cities that have been included in the forthcoming East Coast Radio Breakfast Tour, headed by popular radio personality Darren Maule.

“Our aim is to connect with our loyal listeners and to highlight the unique offerings of each of the towns and cities we visit. We are gathering stories about each town and uncovering its local legends, myths and history. Media outlets, including the South Coast Herald, have rallied to assist us,” said Darren.

When he visits each town, Darren will be out and about, looking for hidden gems, seeking out the best sundowner spots, those lesser-known hole-in-the-wall places and the biggest tourist attractions. Whatever makes a town special, he wants to hear about it.

Port Shepstone is the second town on the tour, which kicks off at Durban’s Umlazi Mega City on July 18. Darren and the Breakfast Tour team will broadcast from Port Shepstone lighthouse on July 21.

From there they will head to Rawdons Hotel and Estate in Nottingham Road on July 22, the Village Walk Shopping Centre in Newcastle on July 23 and the Pietermaritzburg City Hall on July 24.

Then it is back to the coast, with the team heading for the Richards Bay Waterfront, on July 25. From there the team will proceed to the Eshowe Museum in Zululand on July 29 and then wind up the tour back in Durban, in Florida Road, on July 29.

You can listen to Darren and the rest of the East Coast Breakfast Team every weekday morning between 6am and 9am.
