‘FILLABAG’ organisation recently held a workshop at Port Shepstone High. ‘Fillabag’ provides young pupils with personal direction and motivation through inspirational talks and workshops and assists in enabling growth across all communities within South Africa.
Olympic athlete Monique Gladding and Olympic coach Steve Gladding visited the school to address grade 9 pupils with an inspirational talk. In addition, pupils were invited to fill the ‘fillabags’ with items such as tinned food, toys and clothing, which are then distributed to underprivileged communities.
At a recent sevens rugby tournament held at Creston, PSHS open and U16 teams won their divisions. The first soccer team took part in a tournament held at Kloof High during the school holidays. Results were PSHS vs DHS, 0-1; PSHS vs St Benedicts, 2-1;
PSHS vs Hawthorn, 0-3; PSHS vs Kingsway: 0-1. Two oratory teams took part in a debating contest at St. Mary’s and won three out of five debates.
